About Queenetta Strickland
PMHNP • Compassionate Care • Trauma-Informed Approach
Professional Background
I am a Master’s-prepared, ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience providing outpatient mental health care since 2023. My journey in mental health nursing began in 2007, and over the years, I have developed a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of psychiatric care.
For more than 14 years, I had the privilege of caring for veterans within the VA hospital system. This experience profoundly shaped my approach to treatment, teaching me the importance of patience, understanding, and trauma-informed care. Working with those who have served our country taught me that healing requires more than clinical expertise—it requires genuine compassion and a commitment to meeting each person where they are.
My extensive inpatient psychiatry experience from 2007 to 2024 provided me with comprehensive knowledge of acute mental health conditions and crisis intervention. This background enables me to recognize when intensive support is needed and to provide appropriate care coordination for my clients.
My Philosophy of Care
At the heart of my practice is a trauma-informed approach that recognizes the profound impact that past experiences can have on mental health and well-being.
I believe that every person deserves to be heard, validated, and treated with dignity and respect. Mental health treatment is not one-size-fits-all, and I work collaboratively with each client to develop personalized treatment plans that honor their unique experiences, values, and goals.
My approach integrates evidence-based psychiatric care with a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological needs of my clients. Whether through medication management, psychotherapy, or a combination of both, I am committed to helping you find your path to healing and wellness.

A Personal Approach to Healing
Mental health challenges can feel isolating, but you don’t have to face them alone. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, process difficult experiences, and develop the tools you need to thrive.
I understand that seeking help takes courage, and I honor that courage by committing myself fully to your care. Together, we will work toward not just managing symptoms, but building a life of meaning, connection, and fulfillment.
“Healing is not linear, and it’s not about perfection. It’s about progress, compassion, and discovering your own resilience.”
